The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta

In development, The Phoenix Yogyakarta hotel suffered a major renovation by combining the feel of a historic cultural heritage in the broadcast the colonial era, with atmospheric Jogja. Therefore, our guests will find hospitality of the people of Jogja style hotel with modern facilities.
The hotel offers 144 elegant rooms with 10 suites and a special room for people with disabilities. In addition, each room there is a private balcony which is equipped with modern furnishings and a comfortable classic.
Restaurants’ Paprika; comes with an open kitchen concept and specialty Asian cuisine. Also there are two bars, 1918′s Terrace Bar is open at the courtyard panorama show, and Vino Bar is a special present in the evening with a live performance.
History:
First established in 1918, this hotel changed its name to Spledid in 1930 when hired by a Dutchman. In 1942 when Japan’s ruling, the hotel was renamed Hotel Yamato. After Japan surrendered in 1945, the hotel is getting back into the hands of Indonesia.
At the time named Hotel Merdeka in 1951, first president of Indonesia, Sukarno even had a temporary office at this hotel when the capital was moved to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Name of Hotel Independence lasted until 1987, and returned to the owner’s grandson, named Sulaiman. After a renovation in 1993, the hotel is officially changed its name to Hotel Phoenix Heritage.
In 2003, Accor Group to take over the management and conduct major renovation at this hotel. On May 14, 2004, the name was changed to Heritage Hotel Phoenix Grand Mercure until March 29, 2009. On March 30, 2009, Grand Mercure hotel name back to The Phoenix Yogyakarta.
